I would not make it without Jesus

                                                     "Because He Lives"

God sent His Son
They called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my Saviour lives

Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives

And then one day
I'll cross that river
I'll fight life's final war with pain
And then as death gives way to victory
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know he lives

Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives

I have been going through some changes, not all bad bad but changes that are defining me and making me stronger as I grow closer to The Lord. I am blessed to be loved by The King of Kings.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such sweet comments.

Debbie

Fabulous Little Fall Finds

The title of this adorable old book sums up exactly how I feel about our home.

The dining room has always been my favorite room in any and all of the houses I have called home.

I am always looking for things for my kitchen and of course my dining room.

Thrift Shop stop score!!!!!!

Adorable tea pot basket, I love it!

Cute little red basket. I will probably shoot some paint on it to liven it up a little

I found these festive pot holders at a little holiday boutique in my neighborhood.

And while strolling through the Salvation Army, I spied these 3 cuties. Ohhhhhh that bowl just sent me over the top!

It was $7.00 (had to be mis-marked) but thank you very much,
 I will take it!

Hope you all are enjoying the cooler weather and anticipation of the holidays. I sure am.

Debbie

So Thankful To You All

I am so thankful for the kind words and heartfelt sentiments that my Friends and blog visitors bestowed upon me. I shared them with my son and he is very grateful for the prayers and comments.

I am looking forward to getting back to blogging and reconnecting with all of the beautiful bloggers that I affectionately call "friends".

Much Love,

Debbie

Hard To Explain To A Little Boy

My former husband, the father of my son, lost his battle with cancer on Friday.

Your prayers for my son are appreciated beyond words.

Yield To The Yard Sale

My husband rarely says "hey there's a yard sale, wanna stop"? But last weekend he did and I wasn't gonna say no.

I love these knitted pot holders. I think they will look so pretty on my Thanksgiving table.
Scored this ceramic bread bowl on clearance at Target. The faux pastries were found at the Goodwill.

I'm not really a "blue girl" but these goblets were a steal at $.25 a piece at the yard sale and I have some blue dishes in my collection that would go nicely with them.

These apple plates caught my eye. So glad we stopped. Thanks honey!

Just A Little

I spent a little time around the house "playing" with my fall decor.
I poked some fall leaves in my rooster pitcher.

Just a few little touches to my entry way

I slipped napkin rings on my candle sticks. Thought it looked cute.

Just a few things on the buffet in my entry way. I still have more to put out

I love this green shelf I hung near the front door. I found it at the flea market last year and I love to decorate it as the seasons change.
Even put a picture of my father-in-law in a thrift shop fall frame.

I love to bake so I decided to try this Caramel Apple Cake recipe I found on Sherry's blog The Charm Of Home. It was delicious.

Great way to end the day.

How is your fall decorating coming along?

Smiles,

Debbie

Autumn Here And There

Just the turning of the calendar is enough to get me inspired for fall decorating.

I spent a little time on my dining room table. Just a little vignette.

I added some faux acorns to my canning jar.....oh so fall-like

My little farmer fella feels right at home here

Enjoying the cooler nights, looking forward to Fall

Never Pass Up The Pyrex

Why do I adore Pyrex? My husband cracks up when we go thrifting and I spy a cute bowl. He says "better grab it Deb, before some crazy Pyrex woman snatches it up".

I grabbed these up at the Goodwill in a jif.  That Corning ware loaf pan just made my day

Finding these butter yellow and sage colored hot pads was a sweet bonus.

We all have our "crazy" obsessions. What's yours?

Debbie

So Long Summer

Goodbye August......it's been a great summer.

Yep, it's that time of the year. Back To School

 Reading, Writing & Arithmetic

I played around with my little old school desk today. I put together a little vignette to get my son in the mood for school.
I found the little boots & pencil box at the Thrift Shop
A little "school days" garland on my rooster lamp

 Time for class
An apple for the teacher of course.

Debbie

Baking Makes It Better

I got my Thrift Store Rooster Platter out and decided I wanted to bake some cookies.

Firing up the oven didn't cool me off but it quenched my desire for fall.....well kinda.  Preheat oven to 350 when its 100 degrees out doesn't make my husband smile but my cookies sure do.

The little sign I have hanging in my kitchen reminds me that soon fall will be here and our home will be warmed by the heat of the oven while a homemade apple pie bubbles away.

Seasoned with delightful spices and lots of love
 Cooling in the window

Oh Fall, I welcome you with open arms!!

Yearning For Fall

Its HOT!

Enough is enough already.....I welcome Fall with open arms. I am so looking forward to cooler nights, shorter days and the scent of Apple Pie baking in my oven.
My red candy scale has me in the mood for decorating my kitchen. I am constantly changing things around

I cleared off the top of the refrigerator. I like the simplicity of my little display
The little red basket holds my salt & pepper shakers & a little sunflower love

I found the lazy susan at the thrift shop and put together this little vignette

Picked up this little red sugar bowl at an antique shop for $5.00. The gal said its from the 1940's.

I think it looks cute on my coffee station
My sweet husband found this toy toaster and knew I would flip for it
This little cubby in my kitchen is where I like to display all the little treasures I find.

Hope you are keeping cool in your neck of the woods. School starts in a couple weeks for my son so its back to the schedule and routine.
I have to say, I enjoy the lazy days of summer but there is something to be said for the organization and discipline of a schedule. Bed time is earlier and the house settles down sooner and it just feels right.

Smiles,

Debbie
