Christmas Mail

Ding Dong at the front door could only mean one thing.......I have a package on my porch

My blog sister in Christ Deb from Garage Sale Gal sent this loving package filled with so many treasures.

Deb is by far one of my closest friends-in-the-heart. We have known each other for 10 years through blogging but have never met in person. She knows me better than some of my closest family members.

Isn't this tin just adorable?

She knows I love paper crafting and she tucked these vintage stickers & ephemera inside the tin.......

The most adorable vintage recipe book....
That red is my favorite

If these pages could talk

A beautiful sheet of Christmas words describing the birth of Our Lord.

I thank The Lord for blessings like these and most of all for the blessing of a treasured friendship that would not have formed had it not been for the hand of God and of course the wonderful world of blogging. Its undeniable that blog sisters are one of a kind and very, very special.

I am almost done with wrapping all the gifts (that's my favorite) and I am so happy to be off all week to spend time with my son. Are you all ready for Christmas?

Girls Get Together & Christmas Decorations

Well its been a while since my last post.....life just gets so busy.
I hosted a get-together with my long-time girlfriends from an accounting firm that we all worked together at years ago.

Setting the table is my favorite part.

"Mis-matched" is my middle name and that's just the way I like it. A holly tablecloth and napkins paired with gingerbread plates......its all Christmas and that's all that matters.

Each girl got a little mug with their initial on it and a chocolate dipped spoon. I found the mugs at Williams Sonoma, I absolutely love that store.

I love decorating the buffet in my dining room.

I made my famous chocolate bundt cake and displayed it in my Martha Stewart domed cake plate. My daughter blessed me with that beautiful pedestal plate last Christmas.

Let me sneak in a couple of pictures of my (adorable) son. He makes my heart smile.

He is the sunshine of my life

Here is the sideboard in my kitchen all decked out

My Hoosier

Some might think it's "too much" but it looks warm and cozy to me.

This is my other hutch decorated with Christmas cheer

I found this Gingerbread House at Dillard's yesterday.....
I was so excited

Our tree in all it's splendor

My girlfriends who make memories to cherish through good times, laughter and love.

One more week of work then I am off for a week. I adore being home the Christmas week, baking, wrapping and enjoying my family.

Much Needed Time

3 Days off were heavenly! I had all the best of intentions to bring out all of my fall decor but spent my 3 day weekend just relaxing with my husband and our son. We have been going non-stop, stressed out and the holiday weekend break was just what we needed.

I found this cute corn pitcher at the Goodwill last week, I thought it was so perfect for my kitchen with some pretty sunflowers.......so"Fall-ish"

I picked up some paper crafting goodies at Beverly's Craft & Fabrics......love that store!

I will be crafting on Friday, I took the day off "just for me".

How was your Labor Day Weekend?

The Seasons Of Our Life

Planning and Dreaming seem to be the theme of my every thought these days. Is it a changing season in my life? Is it because I am nearing the age of 50? Perhaps it is both and God is preparing me for a change. I seem to "listen" for His still quiet voice and savor those moments devoid of all interruptions.

The Lord knows my heart, He hears my prayers and has the direction of my footprints already mapped out.

Some through the waters, some through the flood,

Some through the fire, but all through the blood;

Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,

In the night season and all the day long.

My faith in Him is my compass.

Have a lovely week.

Summer Junkin

I like mine......Sunny Side Up! I spotted this adorable straw purse at a little antique shop over the weekend and could not resist!

These adorable gingham casserole dishes were $10.00......
for both........squeal!

Love this pretty German platter and  crystal Brandy bottle.

I don't drink (Brandy or any alcohol) but I had the idea to use this beauty to hold mouthwash in my girly girl bathroom.

Popped into Michaels and took advantage of 60%  off Summer stuff. Love this gingham bucket. I added the Geraniums for some pretty red color in my kitchen.

While I was changing things around, I decided to add some polka dots to the back of one shelf on my white cabinet.

Just a little pop to break it up

Hope things are sunny in your world.............enjoy every day.
