Shabby Love Around My House

I decided to "move things around" a little bit today.
Oh how I love my shabby chic style and I love to play around with all my pretties.

Isn't my new (old) Southern Belle vase just too pretty?
I spied her at a little antique shop with my husband.
He laughed when I grabbed her up because
he knew I wasn't gonna leave there without her.

Shes shabby chic perfect

Found this trivet at a thrift shop the other day. I love pieces like this for setting my pretties on.

Here is a little shelf in my living room.
The little footed  piece was a cheese block I found at the thrift shop. I painted it white and love the way it holds my dainty little teapot

Another shelf that holds a biscuit jar that I adore

I bought these plates in all there shabby chic glory for $1.99 total and use them to hold...........

My little cherub lamp

I moved this white birdcage from the hallway to my entry way

I like it here much better

Shabby Love..........yes indeed.

Debbie

Unconventional Uses

I love to use the pretty things I buy at yard sales and thrift shops. Most of the time, I purchase them and think to myself "I wonder what I can use this or that for". I recently found this silver compote candy dish and when I see silver I am immediately attracted to it. I get that from my mother, she always had pretty silver and crystal dishes and such.
I display my "bling" bracelets in it

I found a cloche to keep the dust off of them. I don't wear them everyday but when I get all dolled up to go out with my husband, I love to wear my bling.

I store and display my earrings on this tiered tray. It has little holes in it that allow my earrings to hang from perfectly.

I found this pretty "sugar shaker" in my favorite pink and thought it would be perfect to hold my powder. Yes I use Burt's Bees "baby powder". Its very soft and very light.

My powder is right at hand atop this little shelf. I found it at the Goodwill missing a drawer but I put a little pink tray in the missing slot and it looks perfect in my eyes.

This is a jam jar that holds my bath salts...............I love it

I picked up this "Royal Albert" planter at the flea market for $2.00 and immediately thought of my bathtub. I find that Violets grow nicely in a bathroom and they look so pretty when they bloom.
A crystal cake plate (a garage sale find) displays the things I use on my vanity everyday.

I believe this to be a silver "cruet" holder
but I use it for my makeup brushes and mascara..........
Everything is at my fingertips (why do I have a pin cushion with my makeup? Because that's where i wanted to put it. I just go with what feels right)

A flower frog organizes my eyeshadow brushes and eyeliner.

I bet you can find a lot of "unconventional uses" for everyday things. I would love to hear about them.

Debbie

Love Is In The Air

I can't believe it was a year ago (on June 25th) that we were planning our wedding and the man of my dreams was preparing to make me his wife for life.

The cake so pretty and sweet
The favors
Posing for the photographer, the smiles came so easily

Our cake topper fit us perfectly

The promise of "Forever" in our hearts
With this ring, I thee wed

One year later our love is stronger

and our romance gets sweeter by the day.

I am blessed to be the wife of a hard working, devoted, fun-loving, sensitive, strong, faithful man. Looking forward to a lifetime of love, so deeply in love. He has planned a very romantic Bed & Breakfast weekend in Lake Arrowhead for us......I love him more than words can express.

Smiles,

Debbie

Cherries and Summertime

Summertime is here and cherries are a staple in our house, my son and my husband love cherries
I put them out in a pretty ironstone bowl but they wont  last long!
Thought I would share a few of my recent projects. I found this little shabby shelf at the Goodwill, priced at $3.00. I thought I might be able to "make it mine"......see what you think
I removed the wire thingy on the door and gave it a coat of dark brown paint. I like it!
It sits atop a shelf in our bedroom. I am very happy with the way it turned out

Spied this "Simply Shabby Chic" alarm clock at the Goodwill for $1.50.

This shelf had all the right elements for me but after I hung it in our bathroom, it just lacked something.

Grabbed that can of paint and now it pops!

Hope your week ahead is filled with Sunshine & Smiles (and maybe a bowl of cherries)

Debbie
