Unexpected Sunshine in my Mailbox

I was so excited to open my mailbox the other day and find a box from my friend Deb from
Garage Sale Gal, she has been my blog friend for the past 6 years and to say she is a blessing is an under statement.

.

She hand-made the strawberry card, she makes some amazingly adorable cards, I cherish every one of them.

She knows me so well, I adore this little "bake" sign she made me. So vintage looking.

I love embroidered towels and doilies, this sweet dish towel will be such a lovely addition to my precious collection.

Cute hand decorated clothespin and some adorable recipe cards....love it Deb, thank you for making my heart smile!

The next day I received a box from my special friend Pam from Virginia Retro, she is so thoughtful. Blog friends really are special friends.

An apron, for me? Ohhhh yes, I love it!

She made this adorable little patriotic flower pot, oh so cute. Sorry for the pic quality, I'm not that good with the camera.

Thank you Pam for sending your love and thoughtfulness, it arrived at a much needed time!

Smiles and Gratitude,

Can He Build It Or What??

I asked my husband if he could build a shelf for the blank wall in our new kitchen.....

One trip to The Home Depot and I am a happy girl!

He measured, stained the wood, hammered it all together and now I have a lovely shelf to display my patriotic decor

Love it!!

Tucked a few "red, white and blue" on my favorite yellow shelf while I was at it.
I Love the Americana theme....don't you?

A Little "Me Time" Decorating Today

I had the day to myself today and decided to get out my "patriotic décor". Oh I had so much fun !

I started with my new side board

I realized as I was setting all my things out that my style is "Debbie Décor". I like things that make my heart smile.

This Betsy Ross Spoon Storage is one of my favorite little pieces. I paid $5.00 for her at an old antique shop near my house. I put some little silver spoons in her so she looks as if she is serving her purpose. LOL

Let Freedom Ring

Found these a d o r a b l e cardboard drums at the Goodwill  OMG I love them!

Lady Liberty

Tucked these "firecracker candles" in my little polka dot bowl

My aprons hang here all year long

I bought this apron on Etsy, it was handmade from a vintage tablecloth. This gal has some adorable items in her shop Especially From Karen go check her out.

I added a trio of wooden flags to adorn my cookbook collection.

 I absolutely A D O R E vintage cookbooks.

Lets head on over to the fireplace.

Lastly I tucked a little red white & blue here and there on my Hoosier.

The 4th of July....... American as Apple Pie. Want a slice?

Thank you for visiting, I appreciate your comments and your friendship.

Our New Kitchen

If you have ever remodeled a kitchen you know it is no easy task......NOTHING about it is easy.
Ours was especially challenging because the night the contractor demolished the entire kitchen, my husband suffered a heart attack. It was life changing in so many ways. Thankfully my Dave is doing well after a quadruple bypass. God really does work in our lives in most unexpected ways, He is always faithful no matter what the circumstances.

Here is a pic of my kitchen BEFORE

Lets clear out all my Stuff Treasures.......

Here is the clean slate

Lets get to "guttin"

Strip those doors off

Remove that ceiling....all the way to the studs

Drywall

Ohhhh my what a difference!!

Cabinets galore

I am so happy with the new entryway to the game room.

I designed this little shelf on the wall of cabinets where the windows used to be.

I think it breaks up the row of cabinets

I was able to keep a little window in my new kitchen.

Here is my "Farmhouse Sink"........

Absolutely love the way it looks.

Its a pleasure doing dishes......did I just say that???

I am so grateful we were able to upgrade to granite.

My dream come true convection oven......a bakers delight!!

My Hoosier is on a new wall and I actually like it best here

I never get tired of playing with this Hoosier. My sweet husband bought it for me "just because" and it has brought me such joy.

Well thank you for visiting my new kitchen. I am so happy to share the before and after with  you.

Smiles,

 Debbie
