Dream a little dream.....

I just love these little sign-holder's that you see in restaurants, bakeries, blogs? Like the post that Cindy did when she shared the dreamy cupcakes she made. She displayed them so nicely, doesn't she display EVERYTHING so nicely? She is one of those people who has a special touch for making things look so inviting. I put one of my favorite words on cardstock and display it in different vignettes throughout my home....

It's gonna take some restraint to avoid painting it white. I think I rather like it dark as it adds some variety to my mix....

A girl can dream now can't she?

Sweet dreams til next time,

An afternoon with a can of Spray Paint.....

So my friend Tina decides that she only bought these pictures because she liked the frames. I like the frames too but not in their present darkness. She was gonna put them in her yard sale so I took them and knew I could repurpose them.
See if you like them now....

I think they look awesome in Heritage White. A quick spray paint can work wonders. I am working on different ideas to fill in the empty frames, so many things come to mind. Perhaps a cute shelf, some wallpaper, a photo of my children, a sconce....I love changing the look of something as simple as a frame.

Some Bloggers ARE Friendly....

I met a fellow blogger today and it completely changed my view on "Perception". You see this little lady was indeed as sweet as her blog portrays her to be. She is genuine and thoughtful and REAL. You NEVER KNOW what kind of people are perusing your blog and corresponding with you. I had a delightful cup of coffee and a tour of her beautiful home, got to meet her family and see all the sweet details of her style. We have so much in common and after our little get-together, we both felt like we had known each other forever....

Let me tell you, Cindy from Cute Pink Stuff is as CUTE as the blog she maintains. Thank you Cindy for restoring faith in me that there really are lovely ladies out there who are not afraid to be themselves and shoot straight from the heart.....besides, it's too much work keeping up with the Jones', I would much rather invest in friendship.

Thank you for the delightful chocolates and thank you for a lovely morning Cindy!

Rearranging Furniture

I am so delighted with the way my living room turned out. I really just moved some furniture around to help "balance out" the "wall that goes on forever" and removed some end tables. I find that I go through seasons in my life wherein I want to purge and simplify. I used to collect cobalt blue glass. I was so easy to buy for come birthday time but now my taste has changed and my style is sooooo very different... Here is the before picture
And now the after picture. By moving my curio cabinet next to the couch on the left, it gives the wall some balance and height. The curio mimics the window on the right. I never understand why builders only put one window on a wall that clearly calls for two. We have the same dilemna in our master bedroom.

My glass end tables used to set here with an oversized chair. I like this vignette much better. It is more shabby chic and certainly more inviting.

Here is where I moved the overstuffed chair. I think it fits here much nicer.

The fireplace is going to look awesome when I get my new (old) mantle. My birthday is next Sunday and I hope to use the money I get from my mom & dad to pick it up. That will add such a richness and finality to the room.Thank you to all my blog friends and visitors who lovingly gave their input and advice about what to do with that wall. Rosemary, you were definitely the motivating force behind the arrangement. Thank you.

My next post will include a makeover on some rather dark frames that I have given new life to.

Love & blessings,

Debbie Kay
