Working In My Yard

I love to work outside, even when the temperatures soar to 100 degrees, I am happy to be outside on my porch, loving my plants. My dad loved to be in his yard tending to his plants, I feel so close to him when I am in my yard.

God is so good to comfort me with such tender memories of my dad.

When you walk up to our front porch, you are greeted with this ceramic sign. I found it at the Goodwill, I just love it.

The Tiki Fountain was purchased by my husband, it reminds him of his dad. We lost our dads 4 days apart in 2008.

I popped into Walmart the other day and rescued this "herb garden" from the clearance rack. It was in pretty good shape so I decided to pick it up (at half price I figured I couldn't go wrong).

Chives, Basil, Oregano, Parsley........I need to make my husband a nice dinner.

Cute garden stake. It's always worth waiting for Joann's to mark their seasonal stuff down 70%

Sweet little resin birdie perched here.

Bee Happy............there is so much to be happy about!

Looked for some strawberry plants to put in my little thrift shop pot but no luck. I think these little purple daisies look right at home nonetheless.

I hope anyone who comes to my front door feels
W E L C O M E

The birdies are welcome anytime.

Another Thrift Shop Treasure..............aren't these little boots adorable?

Thank you for spending some time with me outside today.

Well Hello

I have a confession to make.......at this particular point in time, I AM NOT an organized Homemaker. I found this book at the thrift store the other day and it has inspired me.

I have been slacking and "putting things off" far too long. I am determined to get my groove back and not only "get organized"  but "stay organized"
An organized home is a happy home....

Everything in its place, all neat & tidy
I love these long(er) summer days, I love to bake in the Summer, Winter, Spring AND Fall.

Pies, Cookies & Cakes......my family isn't picky when I start to bake.

Happiness is indeed H O M E M A D E

Look at the time on my red vintage clock........it's telling me I need to finish my housework, after all.......

A Mother's Work is Never Done

Thank you for visiting,

Debbie

My Vanity (in the making)

I decided to re-purpose my little green writing desk into a vanity, a place for me to put on my makeup in the morning so my husband can get into the bathroom. Ok let's be real, I wanted my own little area that I could get ready for work and play like a girly girl.

I set it up using all sorts of pretties from around the house. The container shaped like a baby scale was a garage sale find.I didn't know what I was going to do with it when I bought it but when I was setting up my vanity area, it worked out perfect for my concealers.

I shared this pretty vanity jar in my last post, I filled it with the loose powder I use for setting my foundation.

My mother gave me this delicate little tissue holder made out of china. A dear friend of hers gave it to her many many years ago. It's perfect for my little vanity.

I store my large brushes in this Lefton lipstick holder.

More brushes fit nicely in this oil & vinegar caddy.

That's the progress I have made so far. I have big plans in my head for this room but little time is preventing me from getting it all done. I will have more to share as time goes by.

Thank you for stopping by.

Smiles,

Debbie

New Treasures and More Love

My sweetheart took me out of town over the weekend to Temecula (our favorite getaway place) and of course we browsed all the antique shops.

I adore this sweet tray, the flowers are so romantic and shabby chic.

This pretty crystal powder jar will hold my foundation setting powder so perfectly.

We hit the Salvation Army and I picked up this little frame for .50 cents

I cut out a little piece of fabric and placed it in my little blingy frame.

Love it!

Put some Valentine Love on my little green shelf

This grey silverware caddy was screamin out for me (ok, ok  I was screaming out for it, lets be real)

I couldn't resist these french butter pads. There were only 2 of them and I was delighted to add them to my little collection.

L O V E my guy, L O V E my kids,
L O V E my life.
