My Boudoir

Thought you might enjoy seeing my haven and the very best part of my new home.....my bedroom. I enjoyed decorating it and making it my "feminine retreat".

This is a shot taken from the hallway entrance to my bedroom. I had to take down the door as it would not clear my bed but I hung a curtain for privacy. It allowed extra space along the wall where the door would have rested when it was open.

I know, I know, the television on my beautiful dresser looks awful, but I need to find something to put it in so that I can hide it when I am not watching it. I love to have the news on in the morning while I am getting ready for work.

My sweet little bathroom remains unpainted and I havent hung anything on the walls yet. I am unsure what I am going to do in there but have plenty of time to play around with different ideas.

Thanks for visiting, I am so happy that you stopped by. I look forward to sharing my office with you once I get the boxes unpacked, the walls painted, my desk organized and well you get the picture.....

Miss Debbie Kay,

I so enjoyed looking at your wonderful pictures. I love looking at so many other womens decorating ideas. It is so inspiring.

Deb, I have a confession to make though. I love hunting for the treasure... and finding a steal of a deal or whatever ends up happening. However, there seems to be this little voice in my head. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to make me stop and think about the verse in scripture about not laying up treasurers here on earth, but in heaven. It pricks at my conscience. Do you have any insight? Help me? There are things I really want to do in the way of decorating in my own home, our finances are very limited, and I am trying to be wise with our money. However, when I want nice things for our home, I feel guilty. I would love to hear your opinion as a Christian sister... in fact, you are the first person I've shared this feeling with.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your father. Memories are a beautiful way of God bringing our loved ones back to us before we get to be with them again. I'm a firm believer that He allows us to dream about them too. I love seeing Mom in my dreams. Sometimes she is prevelant, other times it is in subtle ways. Any way it happens, I cherish it.

Hugs,
Penny Sue

Debbie, it's really come together so well. It looks great and so "you".
I know how you feel about that tv, and I hear ya', I've got a "whale" in my livingroom that I wish I could put someplace else. A 54" whale!
I can't wait to see what you do with the bathroom and office.

Dear Miss Debbie,

I have to tell you... remember my question about "treasures"... well, I happened to watch a Christian sermon on tv and that was the subject. The pastor said there is nothing wrong with having nice things. Enjoying the fruits of our labors, so to say. He just cautioned about the value we put on those things we consider nice and fruits of our labors. They should not be more important ever than our treasures being layed up for our Eternal home. I was so thankful for that message. I hope that I didn't offend you. I was sincerely looking for any insight you might have about it. It's been a concern on my heart as I press forward to making my house more of a home.

Hugs,
Penny Sue
