Using The Right Ingredients

I love to BAKE. I am not a great cook but I am so happy when I can bake something special for my family, and they always praise my creations. I learned early on, that you must use good ingredients and take your time or it just won't taste "special". I remember as a kid, my mother would make cookies with margarine because the cost of butter wasn't in the budget, we ate them cuz we were kids and didn't know any better........

When I got older and started my own adventures in baking, I used butter in my recipes and my dad would always tell me how good they taste. I think the same holds true for a marriage, if you don't use "good " ingredients and you don't take your time (lots of patience), you will not produce a quality product. I am so thankful to The Lord for guiding us in our marriage.........after all, He is what holds it all together.

What are you baking this fall? I am going to make my husband a "Custard Pie" this weekend. It isnt exactly on the list of "Labor Day" recipes but he really wants one and I have never made one so I will let you know how it turns out.

Lots of love,

Debbie

YOur are so right about the "ingredients"...a good reminder for us gals who have been married for a "few" years:)
Have a nice Labor Day weekend and I'm sure hubby will enjoy the pie!
Warmly,

Thanks for the recipe... both of them. They're both right on the mark. I may just have to try the custard pie - I know my husband would love it!

You are so very right. If we put ugly attitudes and poor effort into things like relationships what do we think we will get out of it. Hope you have a great weekend and that pie sounds divine.

The custard pie recipe sounds really delicious! I like your analogy about marriage. If you don't put anything into your marriage, like good ingredients, you won't have a marriage! But, of course, the Lord has to be in it, like you said!
Blessings,
Janet
