A Beautiful Goodbye And A Few Good Buys.....

The celebration for my dear father was so beautiful and such a lovely time to share how he impacted our lives as a result of knowing him. It is hard letting go but I am so grateful dad knew Jesus and is living forever in Heaven at the foot of the throne with his dear friends and family that went before him. I think about him everyday and will until the day I join him in heaven.....love you dad!!!

While I was visiting with my mother and getting things prepared for the celebration, we managed to find some time to pop into the Goodwill and I spied these little treasures.....

Cute little cherub for $.99, a sweet little bowl with roses on it $.99 and a milk glass footed dish for $1.99.....I thought it was quite worth it.....

My mother was cleaning out her china cabinet and offered this pretty cup and saucer to me....I gladly accepted and added it to my collection of roses....

Look at the sweet little cherub on the base of the display stand. I like to think of it as an angel watching over me in the absence of my father.....very comforting to me......thank you for all of the comments you left for me and the prayers you sent on my behalf. I treasure all the visitors to my blog and appreciate all the friends I have made as a result of this online community.

Love to you all,

Debbie Kay

It's never easy to say good bye to anyone we love. A Dad always holds a special place in a girls heart. Just as she does his.

Be thankful you know he is with Jesus and you will one day be with him again.

I'm happy you got to take a little time out for yourself and found some great things.

I'm so looking forward to Sat. and our time together.

Big hugs!
Joanne

I understand how difficult it is to miss a parent who has passed away, yet you're comforted to know they're with the Lord and you'll be reunited one day. Knowing that somehow makes it easier, don't you think? I think the idea of having a life celebration instead of a more somber type remembrance is a wonderful idea.

Looks like you picked up some wonderful treasures!

Thanks for your sweet thoughts & prayers for me...so appreciated :) Of course I have my meltdown moments but every day I've felt pretty strong & positive. I'm trusting God in every step of this journey :)

Hi Debbie! I am so so sorry you lost your Dad but very glad you got to go home and celebrate his life! That's what needs to be done for lost loved ones!!! Now about that teacup and plate stand. Gorgeous!!!!! One of the prettiest I've ever seen. I just can't seem to figure out my style but I really feel cottage pulling me back in when I see these beautiful things! Your mom knew just what to do to cheer you up I would say!!! Have a great day Debbie! Sincerely, Jeannette

Hi Debbie,
I am glad that your Dad knew Jesus. My Dad passed away 11 years ago, and I don't know if he knew Jesus. Nice treasures :) and how sweet that your Mom gave you the pretty C&S. Take care. Warmly, Deb

Hi Debbie Kay,
How comforting knowing that about your Dad and having a celebration of his life here on Earth and sharing thoughts with others.

You've reminded me, I've got to head down to Goodwill.

Darling cherub looking over you. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

The love you felt for your father was so palpable you should have had a tissue warning on your post!

It takes a LOT to make me 'tear up' a little, but here I sit crying for your broken heart.

My thoughts are with you!
