A girls gotta have a "Plan B"

Well my "glass painting session" was a learning experience but I was not pleased with the shade of pink or the texture left on the glass when it dried so I had to be resourceful (that is where plan B comes in) and find some other items around my home that would fit the darling bases for the votives. Well as luck would have it, I had picked up 3 or 4 of these sweet little votives from Michael's during one of their "Clearance Sales" and I glued them to the newly painted (white of course) bases and I am just thrilled with the outcome. I think they look so much prettier than the original glass bells that were on them from the Thrift Store.....See if you agree.....here is the before.........

And after the transformation............

I just love the way they look on this sweet little silver tray. I had this old wire basket outside just baking in the sun, it didn't even have a plant in it and I thought hmmm what can I do with it after I paint it white?

I think it houses my wash cloths nicely. I found a pretty ribbon (I never throw anything away) to weave through it and I have given it new life.....

A little bit of patience, a lot of creative thinking and ALWAYS A PLAN B, oh and the 3 day weekend always makes it nice to complete my "list of things to do".

Isn't it amazing how everything looks better with a coat of white paint! I like the new votive holders. I think there should be a website where us uncreative people can post photos of all our junk and have the creative people tell us how to use it... I never would have thought about using the flower pot for wash cloths, but it's perfect!!!

Don't you just love Michaels!? I would love to meet up at the Blog-her party! Just tell me when and where and I will be sure to come! If it's this Sat, I won't be able to make it because I will be out of town, but if not, then I will mark the calendar! Thanks for letting me know ; )

Cute ideas, Debbie! Canton is a great place, but it was so hot there and we were exhausted after walking all over the grounds. I love the transformation of your projects...keep it up!

Hi Debbie,
I love what you did with the votives on the bases painted white and the design on the glass. I'd buy something like that!

It's funny, I was just reading about you this morning at La Maison Rustique's blog and then you left me a comment regarding my dear Dad.

Glad I found you back!

Hi...
Great finds to play with. It's always fun to grab a paint brush and go for it.
The choice of votives look wondeful.
Will keep reading...

Now that just goes to show you that when one thing doesn't work out you shouldn't give up. I think your "plan B" is much nicer then your "plan A". I love those Michael's candle holders you got. They are so pretty. Wish I had some.

Looking forward to our fun shopping day too!

Hugs,
Joanne
